September 2017


Greetings Friends of Healing Music,


Beautiful weather, trees just starting to change, calm and healing energies are gently coming our way!!! I hope that you have time to sit down with a nice cup of tea and put on some healing music while you read the newsletter!!! (I would recommend something by Debbie Danbrook.....) ha!!

In August I was back on the Pirate Ship to offer another beautiful Water Healing Ceremony with Danielle Lobo. Such a lovely evening, thanks to all who attended. Sending blessings to Lake Ontario, to the water in us and to all the waters of the globe!

I played at a new space in Toronto - Happy Soul. Perfect name for a sweet and gentle store/workshop area. Always lovely playing with Andrea Gerheardt. We will be playing again in Toronto at Esther Myers on November 18.

I am looking forward to another beautiful evening of healing music with Mark Daniel in Oakville at Akasha's Den. Playing for the fall equinox on September 22. Then I'm off to Ottawa again to play with Mark on October 1 at Adi Shakti. I love playing there!!!



Back in Toronto on October 14 I will be playing with a new musical friend, Deep Ganguly, who is a Master of the Bansuri Indian flute. I'm playing the opening Music Meditation with him at a concert at the Tagore Centre, 6:00pm



November 5 is an all day Healing Workshop at Stittsville United Church near Ottawa.



November 10 is our annual Fundraising Concert for our Music Can Heal association - supporting music for hospice and palliative care.



November 18 I'll be back at the lovely Esther Myers Studio playing with Andrea Gerhardt.

Debbie Danbrook: A specialist in music for meditation, relaxation and healing. She is a Master player of the Shakuhachi flute, an ancient Japanese instrument that was originally played by monks as a type of Zen called 'Suizen' or blowing zen. Debbie is the first woman to have mastered this difficult instrument and weaves the Shakuhachi together with her voice in her ethereal music. She has released over 20 CD's of music through her company Healing Music.
Anne-Marie Boudreau: A classicaly trained Concert Pianist, as well as a sound practitioner, multi-instrumentalist, improvisational vocalist, composer and recording artist. She also teaches sound healing programs, and is a regular bedside performer in hospitals, hospices, and private homes in support of long-term illnesses.
Plus a wonderful variety of musicians from our Music Can Heal association!

JAPAN TOUR - 2018

Maximum of 3 participants - booking for this tour starting in summer, 2017
Please join me and a few participants for the annual Cherry Blossom tour to Japan. We will travel to my favourite temples where I will offer Music Meditations under the Cherry Blossoms. Tour includes travel to Nara, Kyoto, Osaka, and sometimes Ise, the spiritual centre for the Shinto religion. We will enjoy peaceful and tranquil walking meditations at ancient sites, experience a traditional Tea Ceremony, listen to healing music and of course eat fabulous Japanese food, drink sake and shop!!!! Dear Friends of Healing Music,

I hope that you are all having a fun, relaxing and amazing summer! We are in a particularly highly charged energetic shift that started August 3 and will culminate on the eclipse on August 21. Stay calm and have a cup of tea!!!! Keep doing all the things that you love that help to keep you grounded, balanced and above all happy!

I am just back from a wonderful event filled trip to Ottawa!

The Remic Rapids event - playing and dancing around the beautiful rock sculptures of John Ceprano was our wildest performance there ever!!!! There were tornado warnings that day for the Ottawa valley and we were definitely getting a bit of that wild energy. One of the rock sculptures came crashing down from the wind! The clouds were so dramatic and as I have felt all this year the wind felt and sounded different....

The next day was our annual concert at Camellia Teas, hosted by Rebecca and Matthew - thank you both for your incredible hospitality! We had a special bonus this year - the first people to buy tickets were treated to a traditional tea ceremony offered by Rebecca with shakuhachi accompaniment - a lovely wee music meditation in the beautiful Zen garden.

Fire is the first element in the cosmos with water being its elemental opposite. This summer's Healing Boat event will help to cultivate and balance our inner fire with the powerful grace that water can teach us. A strong internal fire will connect us to an eternal source of inspiration. During these pivotal times we should strive to listen deeply to this inspiration. And to help balance this fire energy we can tap into the powerful flowing nature of water that can go beyond all obstacles. It is this gentle but strong aspect of water that we are seeking to merge with our internal fire energy - allowing us to stay present to our truth no matter the distractions or challenges that life presents to us. Dear Friends of Healing Music,

Happy Summer!!!! I hope that you are all enjoying this beautiful weather and having lots of fun times! There are so many new and interesting energetic shifts going on! The bestest thing we can do is get outside when we can, drink lots of tea and of course listen to healing music......

Speaking of tea - exciting news!!!! Tea Master Rebecca Cragg has offered to do a Tea Ceremony for the first 6 people who buy tickets for our
Sunday, August 6, 7:00pm concert at Camellia House in Ottawa. I will also accompany the Tea Ceremony with a Shakuhachi Meditation! The day before the concert we will be offering a Healing Music Mediation and Sacred Dance event at Remic Rapids, Ottawa August 5, 7:00pm until sunset. This is always a beautiful evening, intertwingling music and dance around the amazing rock sculptures of John Ceprano.

There were two special events here in Toronto in July.

On July 11 I offered a Healing Music talk & Music Meditation at the Toronto Reference Library. The event was co-sponsored by our palliative care association - Music Can Heal. Lovely group, wonderful energy. I was so happy to be able to share my thoughts about the healing properties of music, especially in palliative care.



Another wonderful Music Meditation with Chris Gartner on July 22. So much light!!!!! Thanks to all who attended this beautiful meditation.



After all the Ottawa events I will be back in Toronto for the Healing Boat Ceremony on Monday, August 21, 6:45. Details at the end of the newsletter. We are almost fully booked, please get in touch if you would like to purchase a ticket. We had a wonderful time last year!

Fire is the first element in the cosmos with water being its elemental opposite. This summer's Healing Boat event will help to cultivate and balance our inner fire with the powerful grace that water can teach us. A strong internal fire will connect us to an eternal source of inspiration. During these pivotal times we should strive to listen deeply to this inspiration. And to help balance this fire energy we can tap into the powerful flowing nature of water that can go beyond all obstacles. It is this gentle but strong aspect of water that we are seeking to merge with our internal fire energy - allowing us to stay present to our truth no matter the distractions or challenges that life presents to us. We learn to be our eternal flame flowing with strength and purpose. The total solar eclipse on Monday, August 21st will be the New Moon in Leo.

JAPAN TOUR - 2018

(dates may shift by a few days to accommodate the cherry blossoms)
Maximum of 3 participants - booking for this tour starting in summer, 2017
Please join me and a few participants for the annual Cherry Blossom tour to Japan. We will travel to my favourite temples where I will offer Music Meditations under the Cherry Blossoms. Tour includes travel to Nara, Kyoto, Osaka, and sometimes Ise, the spiritual centre for the Shinto religion. We will enjoy peaceful and tranquil walking meditations at ancient sites, experience a traditional Tea Ceremony, listen to healing music and of course eat fabulous Japanese food, drink sake and shop!!!!
